Wheeling, River Trails Park Districts Approve Golf Course IGA

The Wheeling Park District and River Trails Park District have approved an intergovernmental agreement for management of the nine-hole Rob Roy Golf Course and adjoining clubhouse in Prospect Heights.

Effective Jan. 1, 2020, the Wheeling Park District will begin managing all golf and food and beverage operations at the facility at 505 E. Camp McDonald Rd. The four-year agreement also includes management of Woodland Trails Driving Range at 1500 E. Euclid Ave. in Mount Prospect.

The IGA, approved at a joint board meeting Oct. 29, provides for Wheeling Park District and River Trails Park District residents to receive resident rates at both Traditions at Chevy Chase Golf Course in Wheeling and Rob Roy.

“This mutually beneficial arrangement allows the Wheeling and River Trails park districts to build on the strengths of both entities and provide our communities with additional recreational opportunities and services,” said Sue Stein, president of the Wheeling Park District Board of Commissioners. “We expect that Chevy Chase’s sustained success in golf and food and beverage operations will be an asset to this new undertaking.”

For over 40 years, the Wheeling Park District has owned and operated the 18-hole Traditions at Chevy Chase Golf Course and Chevy Chase banquet and clubhouse facilities at 1000 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling.
