Vacancy Opens On Prospect Heights Park BoardFree Access

The Prospect Heights Park District has a vacancy on the park board that needs to be filled.

After serving on the park board for nearly 18 years, Vicki Carney is moving to Florida.

“She has been a tremendous asset to the park district by sharing her professional experience and knowledge in finance. She will be greatly missed,” Executive Director Christina Ferraro said.

“The Prospect Heights Park District board and staff would like to extend much gratitude to Commissioner Vicki Carney for her hard work, energy, and dedication to the residents of Prospect Heights Park District. We wish her all the best,” park board President Tim Jones said.

The park board is tasked with appointing an individual for the remainder of Carney’s four-year term through April 2023. At that time, the position is subject to an election in which interested parties may run for the position.

A seven-member board of commissioners is elected at-large by Prospect Heights Park District resident voters for four-year terms. Those interested must be a resident of the park district for at least one year and be a registered voter within the park district.

Interested residents may submit their resume and a letter of interest via email to commissioner@phparks.org no later than Feb. 19. The board will interview applicants in the spring and may make an appointment in the summer.
