Teens Nabbed For Smoking E-Cigs

The following records are from the files of the Park Ridge Police Dept. The Park Ridge Journal publishes its “Police Blotter” every Wednesday:

 Trespass Charged

Joel H. Carmickle, 49, of 1458 Chicago Ave., Evanston, was charged with criminal trespass to property at 6:49 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4. He was taken into custody at Whole Foods, 225 W. Touhy Ave., a location from which he had earlier been banned.

 Drug Charges

An 18-year-old Park Ridge man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1. He was taken into custody at Maine East High School. A 15-year-old Des Plaines girl was apprehended at Maine South High School at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6. She was charged with possession of cannabis.

 Smoking Charges

Four teens were taken into custody at city high schools for possession of electronic smoking devices. Police apprehended a 16-year-old Park Ridge boy at 11:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, a 17-year-old Park Ridge boy at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, another 17-year-old Park Ridge boy at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and a 15-year-old Park Ridge boy at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7. One of the 17-year-olds was also charged with possession of cannabis. All four were taken into custody at Maine East High School.

 Retail Theft Reported

An unknown man took several containers of baby formula from Mariano’s, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave., and fled without paying. The theft occurred at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5. An unknown man pumped gas at a station in the 1100 block of W. Touhy Avenue at 6:24 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 and fled without paying.

 Driving Charges

Gregory Beck, 59, of 4873 N. Hermitage Ave. #1N, Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, illegal transportation of alcohol, and parking where prohibited. He was taken into custody in the 900 block of Busse Highway at 7:56 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9.

 Burglaries and Thefts

A bottle of prescription medication was taken from an unlocked 2016 Chevrolet in the 700 block of S. Prospect Avenue. The burglary occurred between 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 and 9:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1. Three packages were taken from a porch in the 200 block of Elmore Street before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6. A fence was cut and tools and equipment were taken from a construction site in the 500 block of Busse Highway before 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7.
