State Rep. Morrison Hosting Blood Drive Jan. 19Free Access

State Rep. Tom Morrison (R-54th)

State Rep. Tom Morrison (R-54th) will host a blood drive in partnership with Palatine Township and Vitalant, by appointment only, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at Palatine Township Hall, 721 S. Quentin Rd., Palatine.

The drive will take every necessary safety precaution to keep both volunteers and donors safe during the event, which is why appointments are required.

Food donations for the Palatine Township Food Pantry are also welcome during the event. Some of the most needed items for the pantry include 100% juice bottles or boxes, pancake mix, granola bars, oatmeal and snacks. A comprehensive list of items needed can be found at palatinetownship-il.gov/programs-assistance/food-pantry.

Due to the ongoing blood shortage in Illinois, Morrison hosted several blood drives in 2020 and encourages others to do what they can to help increase the blood supply.

“Donating blood helps save lives,” Morrison said. “With our state experiencing ongoing blood shortages amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this drive will help make an immediate impact that can make a difference.”

Spots are limited for blood donation, so interested residents should make an appointment as soon as possible. Contact Morrison’s district office at 847-202-6584.
