Smith to Conclude Career at Arkansas


Stevenson alum Justin Smith found his new home for his final season of college basketball Monday, June 8.

Smith played his first three seasons at Indiana University, but graduated early and decided to play his final year of eligibility elsewhere in 2020-21. 

Smith announced he will attend Arkansas for his last year. The Razorbacks went 20-12 last season before the year was cut short.

Smith played against Arkansas in Indiana Dec. 29, 2019, but Arkansas won 71-64. Smith contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds against the Razorbacks in 24:33.

Over his three years at Indiana, Smith scored 821 points in 98 games. He also contributed with 419 rebounds, 64 assists, 60 steals and 35 blocks.

Arkansas is coached by Eric Musselman, who just completed his first season. Musselman is a former NBA head coach (108-138 record) and just wrapped up his fifth season as NCAA head coach. He went 110-34 at Nevada from 2015-19, before going 20-12 last season at Arkansas.

The Razorbacks compete in the Southeast Conference (SEC) with Kentucky, Florida, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Missouri and Vanderbilt.

Arkansas plays at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, AR, which holds 19,368 people.
