Rotary’s ‘Classic 5000’ Fundraiser Supports Local ProgramsFree Access

The Rotary Club of River Cities on Wednesday, Feb. 8 will hold its Annual Classic 5000 Reverse Raffle at Atlantis Banquets, 1273 N. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. The event generally runs until 9 p.m.

All event proceeds go to serving the needs of Mount Prospect, Des Plaines, and Prospect Heights communities such as providing new winters coats for local kids, providing scholarships for local summer camps, supporting local summer reading programs and contributing to the Prospect Heights Summer Outreach Program, and supporting local organizations including the Frisbie Senior Center, Harper College, Maryville, and more.

Dinner tickets are $50 per person for those who wish to be in-person. The drawings will also be live-streamed. Reverse raffle tickets are $100 each. There will be additional raffles throughout the evening.

The Classic 5000 is a reverse raffle in which all entry tickets start out in the tumbler. One by one, the tickets are drawn (eliminating them from the grand prize) and placed in a secondary prize tumbler. At the end of the drawing, the last ticket remaining will win 50% of the money raised, up to $5,000. Those tickets pulled out earlier, which have been put into the secondary tumbler, have a chance to win secondary prizes valued at a minimum of $100 each and which may be a combination of prizes and gift cards.

The Table of Cheer is an additional raffle opportunity to win a selection of beverages and bar essentials with an anticipated value of hundreds of dollars.

There will be a Gift Card Tree raffle on site. The winner will take home all the identified gift cards in various denominations to local stores and restaurants.

Classic 5000 dinner and/or reverse raffle tickets may be purchased online at www.rivercitiesrotary.com through PayPal and credit cards or checks payable to the Rotary Club of River Cities may be mailed to Rotary Club of River Cities, P.O. Box 292, Mount Prospect, IL. 60056.
