Des Plaines-based Rivers Casino, whose parent company may soon sell a majority of its stock to Churchill Downs, Inc., continues to lead the pack of the state of Illinois’ 10 riverboat casinos.

Illinois Gaming Board figures through September show that Rivers alone has generated $331,778,494 in adjusted gross sales for the first nine months of the year. That number far surpasses Joliet-Harrahs Casino’s $133,842,756. The state’s eight other casinos generated less revenue than Harrahs and Rivers. For the month of September, Rivers generated $34.3 million in income compared to Joliet-Harrahs $14.3 million, Elgin’s Grand Victoria’s $13 million and Aurora Hollywood’s $9.7 million.

In terms of admissions during September, 244,103 were recorded. Both Joliet-Harrahs and the Grand Victoria recorded 106,000 admissions each.

For the first nine months of 2018, Illinois’ 10 casinos have generated $1,037,296,216 in adjusted gross income. Rivers alone generated $331,778,494 of that sum.

Midwest Gaming Holdings, LLC is the parent company of Rivers Casino in Des Plaines.
