Political Endorsement: Kobus, Rothrauff, Fay For Dist. 57 Board

Kobus

In Mount Prospect Elementary School Dist. 57, the four candidates running for three, four-year seats would all be good fits on the board of education.

Fay

However, the three that stand out the most are challengers Kimberly Fay and Rachael Rothrauff, along with current board member Jennifer Kobus. We recommend their election Tuesday, April 2.

Rothrauff

With Dist. 57 facing several challenges dealing with lack of space, increasing enrollment, and possible mandates from Springfield, the district needs fresh ideas, new blood and a strong injection of enthusiasm. All four candidates possess those qualities. We feel Fay, Rothrauff and Kobus are best suited for the job.

Each has different educational and professional backgrounds that will suit the district well. We look forward to their decision-making as the district looks toward possible expansion of Westbrook and Lions Park schools, possible changes at Lincoln Middle School, and additional students entering the district in the next handful of years as new developments open in the village’s downtown.

The other candidate running, Kristine O’Sullivan, has provided many thoughtful ideas for the district should she be elected.
