The 2018 IHSBCA Phil Lawler Summer Baseball State Tournament hosts regionals across the state Monday, July 9-Thursday, July 12 as teams try to qualify as one of the eight teams in the finals Monday, July 16-Thursday, July 19 at North Central College and Benedictine University, who co-host the finals.
Buffalo Grove, Conant, Fremd, Glenbrook South, Hersey, Leyden, Maine South, Maine West, Niles West, Palatine, Prospect, Rolling Meadows, St. Viator and Wheeling will all be competing and representing the Journal-area. Not participating this year are Elk Grove, Stevenson, Maine East, Niles Notre Dame, Loyola, Northridge and Christian Liberty Academy.
