Park Ridge Recycling Day Will Be Held Oct. 20


The Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce and the city will host a document demolition and electronics recycling day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Public Works Service Center, 400 Busse Hwy.

As the event is sponsored by SWANCC, participants must be residents of SWANCC communities to participate.

A $5 donation is requested to assist the chamber with its community projects. In return they will receive a $5 coupon to use on purchases of $20 or more at select businesses.

Electronics which will be accepted include: answering machines, cable receivers, calculators, camcorders, cameras, CD and DVD players, cell phones, computer cables, computer monitors, computers – desktop/notebook/tablet, converter boxes, fax machines, keyboards, microwaves, mouse, MP3 players, portable digital assistants, power tools and cords, printers, satellite receivers, scanners, shredders, small home appliances such as toasters and blenders, non-wooden stereo equipment, telephones, televisions, typewriters, video game consoles, video recorders/players, and zip drives.

Items which can not be accepted include: dehumidifiers, humidifiers, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, large appliances, copiers, postage machines, and lead acid batteries.
