Park Ridge Briefs: Action Ridge Rallies Support To Pass ERA


Park Ridge’s new Action Ridge organization will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8 in the lower level of Park Ridge Community Church, 100 Courtland.

A video, “Equal Means Equal” will be shown from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

Guest speaker Lisa Kaihara from Ratify ERA will discuss efforts in the Illinois General Assembly to have Illinois ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. Only two more states must agree for this constitutional amendment to take effect in the United States.

The group is encouraging members to attend several area events in March, including a presentation about suffragist Alice Paul at 10:30 a.m. March 10 at the Des Plaines Library; the One Earth Film Festival at 6 p.m. March 10 at St. Mary’s Church; an Indivisible Summit March 11; and a “March for Our Lives” on March 24.

Dr. Erwin Lutzer To Speak At April 7 Prayer Breakfast

The Park Ridge Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7 at the Park Ridge Country Club, 636 N. Prospect Ave.

Guest speaker will be Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer, pastor emeritus from the Moody Church, where he served for 36 years.

He is a featured speaker on three radio programs heard on more than 1,000 outlets around the world, and has authored numerous books, including “Hitler’s Cross,” which won a Christian Bookseller’s Gold Medallion Award.

Dr. Lutzer and his wife Rebecca are Park Ridge residents, the parents of three and grandparents of eight.
