Phyllis M. Bochat, 88, died on Nov. 19. She was the wife of Wayne Bochat. She is survived by four children and their wives and 10 grandchildren. She was known for her parties, watermelon baskets, and for being a gracious hostess. She was a fervent booster of the Maine South Theatre Department and supported local theatrical productions. Carl E. Bowling, 93, died on Nov. 11. Preceded in death by his wife, Launa. He is survived by his daughter, Diana Cooper, and two grandchildren. He was born in Princeton, WV and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked most of his life in the Chicago area as a professional mechanic and electrician. He is survived by his sister, nephews, niece, aunt, eight grand-nieces and nephews, and several cousins in the United States and in England. Howard C. Michaelsen, Jr., a once prominent Chicago attorney, died at home on Nov. 19, at the age of 94. He enjoyed fishing, true crime mysteries, football, and a good meal.
