Sandra J. Jacobs, 83, died on June 15. Jacobs worked in customer service at Stanley Home Products and Hart Shaffner and Marx, retiring at age 70. She was a dancer and participated in many dance programs. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing clothes, bowling for years at Sim’s Bowl, listening to country music and even taught herself how to play the guitar. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Lundgren, her second husband, Ray Jacobs, Chris Lundgren, and Kenny Lundgren. James P. Ostler, Sr., 101, died June 17. He served his country during World War II as a navigator on B-17s. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the British Distinguished Flying Cross and the French Legion of Honor. Ostler worked as a production manager for Time, Inc. from 1946 until 1985. He was a 65-year resident of Arlington Heights, an active parishioner of St. James, an avid reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and golfing. He is survived by his seven children, 12 grandchildren and his eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Ostler and his two brothers.
