Elena Cecilia Bertolini, 90, died on June 26. She began her career at Radio Flyer in Chicago. After marriage, she raised a family, and transitioned to a career in banking. In retirement, she enjoyed cooking and baking and traveling with her husband. She is survived by two children and their spouses, four grandchildren, her sister, brother, sister-in-law, and by many nieces and nephews. Frederick H. Borgardt, 87, died on June 23. He was a brother, father of two, father-in-law, grandfather of six, great-grandfather of two, and uncle. Preceded in death by wife, Patricia; and daughter, Deborah Durnwald. He served as a member of the U.S. Army from 1956-58 and U.S. Army Reserves from 1958-62. He spent much of his life as a skilled contractor and owned several small businesses. During his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, ice cream, and spending time with family. Robert D. Coté died on June 20. He was the husband of the late Josephine, father of one, grandfather of one, brother, uncle, great uncle, cousin, and stepfather. He joined the Navy after high school, where he worked in the scullery and then as an aerial photographer. After three years in the Navy, he traveled to Chicago, where he started his career in media. He worked for many advertising agencies. After retiring, he branched out on his own in media marketing. During his free time, he was an avid fisherman. David K. Lee, 77, died on June 24. He was the husband of Heidi, father, brother-in-law and friend. He pursued all of his hobbies with passion. He played the guitar, took line dancing classes, and could fix almost anything around the house. His love of travel took him to many countries. Louis C. Matthopoulos, 63, died suddenly on June 26. He was a retired police officer, who honorably served the village of Northbrook for 27 years. Throughout his career, he served as a patrolman, community service officer, and detective. He specialized in many high-profile cases and was appointed as a supervisor for the Northern Regional Task Force Investigations Bureau (NORTAF). He remained busy in retirement by spending time working out, engaging in remodeling projects, and being a grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; three sons, three grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, and his faithful companion, Rocky. Preceded in death by his parents. Eleanor Mensching, 107, formerly of Itasca, died on June 22. She was the wife of the late Elmer. She was an operator and owner of the Mensching Grocery Store in Itasca with her husband. She was also an avid knitter, quilter, and needlepoint artist. Mensching is survived by her daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters. Warren L. Starkey, 95, died on June 25. Starkey served his county in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
