Niles Blotter: Men Charged With Fighting In Restaurant

Domestic Battery Charged

Jose L. Garcia II, 38, of the 8000 block of W. Foster Lane in Niles, was charged with domestic battery at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30. He allegedly bit a woman in the face at his apartment and then fled the scene. Officers located him and took him into custody.

Suspicious Incident

A woman told police she was involved in a road rage incident on Tuesday, Sept. 18 during which another driver followed her for about 10 minutes. After she lost sight of the other driver she continued on her routine, picked up her son, and went home. On Friday, Sept. 28, she received a letter in the mail at her home that appeared to come from the other driver. The woman believes the other driver has her personal information and police are investigating.

Disorderly Conduct Charged

A 49-year-old man from the 300 block of Hill Court in Wauconda and a 29-year-old man from the 1100 block of Randville Road in Palatine, were charged with disorderly conduct at 1:14 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1. Police took them into custody at Ichiban Buffet, 8780 W. Dempster St., after they allegedly fought inside the restaurant.

Drug Charges

A 41-year-old man from the 7200 block of W. Lill Street in Niles, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no rear registration plate light. He was pulled over at 11:29 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 in the 8800 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue for the alleged lighting violation. He allegedly had suspected marijuana and a cartridge of suspected cannabis oil loaded in an electronic vaporizer in his vehicle. Police did not release the man’s name.

A 30-year-old woman from the 8600 block of N. Waukegan Road in Morton Grove, and a 38-year-old man from the 2600 block of W. Golf Road in Glenview, were charged with possession of cannabis at 12:23 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1. Police stopped her at Harlem Avenue and Dempster Street for allegedly having darkly tinted windows. She was also cited for that alleged violation. There allegedly was suspected cannabis oil located in the vehicle, police said. Police did not release the suspects’ names.

A 14-year-old Chicago boy was charged with possession of cannabis at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2. The youth, a student at Notre Dame, 7655 Dempster St., allegedly had a vaporizer cartridge containing suspected cannabis oil in his locker, police said.

A 29-year-old man from the 8800 block of N. Prospect Avenue in Niles, was charged with possession of cannabis. Police pulled over a vehicle in the 8900 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 for allegedly having expired registration. The suspect, a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly was in possession of suspected marijuana. Police did not release the man’s name.

An 18-year-old Des Plaines man was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:06 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2. An officer apprehended him after he allegedly called for assistance getting into his locked vehicle. Police allegedly recovered three plastic bags containing suspected marijuana from his vehicle.

Alcohol Charges

A 48-year-old man from the 8800 block of N. Oleander Avenue in Morton Grove, was charged with public intoxication and cost of emergency services at 8:56 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1. Police located him allegedly lying in the grass in the 8300 block of W. Dempster Street. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Retail Theft Charged

A 51-year-old woman from the 4600 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, was charged with petite theft at Target, 6150 W. Touhy Ave. She was stopped at 11:04 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for items valued at a total of $216.14. Police did not release the woman’s name.

Mohammad W. Zzaman, 42, and Mastura Begum, 32, both of the 800 block of Jody Lane in Des Plaines, were charged with retail theft at Kohl’s Department Store in Golf Mill Mall. They were taken into custody at 3:31 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 after they allegedly tried to leave without paying for 35 items including cosmetics, perfumes, and colognes, valued at a total of $1,844.17.

Nebojsa Denikov, 56, of the 9000 block of Cumberland Avenue in Niles, was charged with retail theft at Home Depot, 8650 W. Dempster St. He was stopped at 2:52 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for merchandise valued at a total of $280.48.

Retail Theft Reported

A man and a woman tried to take two home security systems, a memory card, and a knife from Costco, 7311 Melvina Ave., at 7:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28. When confronted by security, they fled and escaped in a white Hyundai Accent.

Two men took 46 boxes of over-the-counter medication valued at a total of $1,189.56 from Walgreens Drug Store, 5600 W. Touhy Ave. The theft occurred at 9:04 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Driving Charges

Jorge L. Deleon, 29, of the 5500 block of W. Dakin Street in Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license at 12:59 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29. He was apprehended after an alleged traffic crash at W. Touhy and N. Caldwell avenues.

An 18-year-old Chicago man was charged with no valid driver’s license at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2. He was allegedly involved in a traffic crash in the 6200 block of W. Howard Street and did not have the proper classification on his driver’s license for a motorcycle, police said.
