New Restaurant Coming To Mount Prospect; Liquor License Approved

Mount Prospect trustees approved a liquor license for Mr. Alex Tang and Ms. Li Hui Hung, co-owners of E-Sushi, at last week’s (March 17) village board meeting.

The license E-Sushi was approved for is a Class F-2 license, which allows for the sale of beer and wine at dining tables.

Tang and Hung are making E-Sushi their full-time endeavor and will be on-site as management. Collectively, they have more than 20 years of Japanese business operations experience between them. Tang has experience in Asian culinary and previously owned a Chinese takeout restaurant in Geneva. Both Tang and Hung were employed at Sushi Para, a Japanese sushi restaurant, in Palatine.

E-Sushi will open in the former location of Rokudenashi, 1750 W. Golf Rd., with a total of 2,400 square feet. E-Sushi will be a dine-in, all-you-can-eat model restaurant that will specialize in more than 50 varieties of high-quality Japanese sushi. Currently, the site is going through an “extensive interior rehab” in which new restrooms, kitchen equipment, dining furniture and sushi bar will be constructed. However, once open to the public, the hours of operation will be seven days a week and will serve lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Tang and Hung completed the application with appropriate documentation, paid all fees, agreed to fingerprinting and background checks and submitted proof of completion of the liquor servers’ classroom course.

The liquor license was approved unanimously by trustees.
