The election results for new officers and directors of the Illinois City/County Management Association (ILCMA) were announced June 14 at the group’s annual meeting, held in conjunction with its Summer Conference.

Mount Prospect Village Manager Michael Cassady was selected to serve as the organization’s president for the 2018-19 term. Cassady has served as Mount Prospect’s village manager since 2015. Prior to joining the village, he had more than 20 years of experience in local government, including serving as village manager in Bensenville and Palatine.

“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to lead the Illinois City Manager Association this coming year,” Cassady said. “We plan a very productive year to ensure our local government leaders are supported through our commitment to inclusiveness, ethics and integrity and governing best practices for city managers.”

ILCMA, which was founded in 1953, seeks to foster and encourage the personal and professional development of its members so they may better serve their communities; and to promote, encourage, and preserve high ethical standards for municipal government administrators.

The association’s 750-plus members are professionals who share the common interest of promoting effective local government. Members include city, village and county managers and their assistants, persons interested in local government management, students, consultants, and other management professionals.
