Man Charged After Police Say He Urinated In Garbage Can

Des Plaines police were dispatched to a building on the 3000 block of S. River Road on Thursday, June 17 at about 6:30 a.m. for a report of a subject, later identified as Andriy Modnyy, 42, of 8301 O’Connor Dr., River Grove, battering a staff member.

The incident was in reference to a Des Plaines police report that indicates that one of the bathrooms inside the business was closed and a staff member was inside attempting to clean the area.

Police said Modnyy walked around the barricaded entry to the bathroom at which time he was again advised by the staff member that it was closed and to go somewhere else.

Police allege that at that point, Modnyy started pushing the staff member in the chest before proceeding to urinate inside a garbage can. At that time, Modnyy was cited by police for battery via Des Plaines city ordinance and also provided a warning by the business security that he is no longer allowed on the property.

A short while later, Des Plaines police were again called to the area regarding the same subject, Modnyy, who was then allegedly inside the business after being warned not to return. Modnyy was subsequently arrested for criminal trespass to land.
