Police: Traffic Stop Nets 100 Grams Of Cannabis

During a vehicle stop Wednesday, Dec. 5, Palatine police reportedly discovered 100 grams of cannabis inside the vehicle, which ultimately led to the driver being charged.

According to police, officers just after 10:15 p.m. stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 1400 block of N. Ports O’Call Drive in Palatine.

As officers spoke with the driver, they said they detected a strong odor of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle.

The 20-year-old driver, Daniel Trejo of the 1400 block of N. Ports O’Call, Palatine, admitted to having cannabis in the vehicle, police said, and a search of the vehicle produced over 100 grams of cannabis.

Trejo was charged with one count felony possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and one count felony unlawful possession of cannabis. His bond was set at $10,000 “I” (recognizance bond), which requires the defendant’s signature to be released. His next court date is set for 10:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in Rolling Meadows.
