The Mount Prospect Fire Dept. and Human Services Dept. are partnering to re-stock the village’s Emergency Food Pantry with the help of the Mount Prospect community.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, the fire department will host a food drive in the parking lot in front of Costco at Randhurst Village, 999 N. Elmhurst Rd. Residents are asked to donate canned goods and paper necessities.
Items that are most needed include:
- Baby diapers (all sizes)
- Canned beef stew, chicken & dumplings, SPAM, etc.
- Canned tuna, meats & chicken
- Canned fruit & fruit cups
- Canned ravioli, spaghetti, etc.
- Canned beans
- Canned corn
- Cereal
- Coffee/tea/cocoa
- Cookies
- Crackers
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Jam & jelly
- Juice or juice boxes
- Paper towels, napkins & toilet paper
- Peanut butter
- Pudding & pudding cups
- Pasta sides
- School lunch snacks
- Spaghetti sauce
- Tomato sauce
Homemade food or items past their expiration dates cannot be accepted. Do not bring cans over 32 ounces and packages over 5 pounds.
