Grass Fires Reported At Gallery Park


The following records are from the files of the Glenview Police Dept. The Glenview Journal publishes its “Police Blotter” every issue:

Battery Charged

Imelda C. Cortes, 27, of 9610 Maclean Ave., Melrose Park, was charged with battery at 10:24 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. Police apprehended her in the 1200 block of Waukegan Road. Police did not explain what acts warranted the charge or how they located Cortes.

Theft Charged

Kailee Keenan, 19, of 3611 Keenan Ln., Glenview, was charged with theft at 10:03 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22. She allegedly transferred $8,079 from someone else’s bank account into her own, police said.

Robert Jabaay, 41, of 617 Oxford Ln., New Lenox, was charged with theft at 10:59 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5. He was taken into custody after an investigation into an alleged fraud that occurred in the 1000 block of Harlem Avenue on Mar. 3, 2016.

Drug Charges

An 18-year-old Glenview man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 6:57 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22. He was taken into custody in the 4100 block of Cove Lane. Police did not say how they discovered the alleged contraband or what suspected equipment they recovered.

An 18-year-old Glenview man was charged with possession of cannabis at 10:34 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22. An officer saw a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana in plain view on the console of a vehicle parked in a no parking zone in the 1600 block of Executive Lane. When the occupants returned to the vehicle, the suspect, a passenger in the car, allegedly admitted ownership of the drug.

DUI Charges

Jason Ford, 32, of 7601 Lincoln Ave., Skokie, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and blood alcohol content more than .08 percent. He was taken into custody at 10:42 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24 after an alleged traffic crash in the 1800 block of Prairie Street. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded more than the legal limit on a breath test.

Juan Flores, 37, of 2546 W. 45th St., Chicago, was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and illegal transportation of alcohol. Police pulled him over in the 3200 block of Glenview Road at 6:26 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28.

Tobias Nilsson, 48, of 2600 Golf Rd., Glenview, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 10:11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28. He was apprehended after an alleged traffic crash in the 2000 block of Pfingsten Road.

Eli Toledo-Ocampo, 34, of 1646 Waukegan Rd., Glenview, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, endangering the health of a child, illegal transportation of alcohol, and improper lane usage. He was stopped in the 1200 block of Waukegan Road at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. Police did not release additional details about the charges.

Retail Theft Charged

Tamieca McDade, 40, of 556 Buffalo Ave., Calumet City, was charged with retail theft at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24. She was apprehended at an undisclosed store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.

Bogdan Gajo, 69, of 9525 Forest Pl., Des Plaines, was charged with retail theft at 11:51 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26. He was apprehended at Abt Electronics, 1200 Milwaukee Ave.

Fires Started

Three small grass fires were located in Gallery Park, 2699 W. Lake Ave., at 5:33 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Retail Theft Reported

Someone took pharmaceuticals valued at a total of $1,500 from an undisclosed store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road and fled without paying. The theft occurred at 3:57 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2.

Two people ordered food valued at a total of $44 at a restaurant in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 9:55 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. They then ran from the business without paying the bill.

Driving Charges

Charles Williams, 45, of 36 S. Wheeling Rd., Wheeling, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and no proof of insurance at 12:06 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23. He was pulled over in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Oluwayesimi Bamikefa, 43, of 1650 Marywood Ave., Aurora, was charged with no valid driver’s license and improper signal. Police stopped her at Willow and Shermer roads at 2:33 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24.

Adrian Wenda, 27, of 5647 Henderson St., Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance, and speeding. An officer stopped him in the 1800 block of Patriot Boulevard at 10:58 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25.

Eusebio Garcia, 47, of 532 W. 45th St., Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and no proof of insurance at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26. Police pulled him over in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Eric Booker, 48, of 772 E. Fifth Ct., Des Plaines, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and failure to surrender a suspended driver’s license. He was stopped in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road at 9:46 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1.

Burglaries and Thefts

Someone took a garage door opener from an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Golfview Road between 10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 and noon Tuesday, Sept. 19.

A wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Raleigh Road between Monday, Sept. 18 and Tuesday, Sept. 19. The homeowner told police he saw a man in his driveway at about 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19. He asked the man what he was doing and the man asked the homeowner if he had called for a cab. When he replied that he had not, the man got into a silver minivan and left.

A bicycle was taken from the 3300 block of Glenview Road before 8:17 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19.

A backpack containing a tablet computer, a purse, and a wallet was taken from an unlocked van in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21.

Someone took a bicycle from the 900 block of Harlem Avenue between 3 and 5:43 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24.

A man accidentally left his wallet behind while shopping at an undisclosed store in the 2200 block of Willow Road at 4:42 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25. When he returned, cash and a credit card were missing from the wallet.

A credit card was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1500 block of Canterbury Lane before 10:13 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Someone took an unlocked bicycle from a rack in the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue before 8:16 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Landscaping equipment was taken from a storage trailer in the 600 block of Zenith Drive before 7:24 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29.

Jewelry valued at a total of $3,000 was taken from a home in the 2600 block of Chestnut Avenue before 2:11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29.

Someone took two packages that had been delivered to a porch in the 4600 block of Lilac Avenue. The theft occurred before 9:11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1.

Tools and bicycles were taken from a garage in the 1600 block of Hawthorne Lane before 1:07 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2.

A tablet computer was taken from a home in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue before 1:49 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2.

Vandalism Reports

Someone spray-painted graffiti inside the parking garage in the 2700 block of Aviator Lane before Thursday, Sept. 21.

A window was broken on a vehicle in the 1500 block of Kittyhawk Lane between 5 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.

Someone placed excrement into a car in the 2700 block of Virginia Lane before 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Graffiti was written on playground equipment in the 1500 block of Forest Drive before 11:03 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2.
