Glenview School Dist. 34 Board of Education members discussed fees for the 2023-2024 school year last week, increasing lunch, registration, and book fees but keeping others, including transportation and full-day kindergarten, flat.

A final vote is expected at the Monday, Dec. 12 school board meeting on the consent agenda.

The registration and book fees vary by grade level but each grade will see a $75 increase. The base fee is discounted for those taking advantage of early registration by $50, so those registering early will see a $25 increase over this year’s registration and book fees.

Meal fees will be increased between 15 and 30 cents per, depending on breakfast or lunch, and varying by grade level.

One of the most expensive fees is for full-day kindergarten, which is optional for families. The 2023-2024 full-day kindergarten fee, unchanged from this year, is $3,600 or $3,300 with an early registration discount. Discount options are also available for low-income families.

The other substantial fee is busing, also unchanged, at $405 with an additional late registration fee of $50 after July 1.
