Cyberstalking Charged

A 31-year-old man from Chicago was charged with cyberstalking and harassment by electronic communication. He was taken into custody at the Cook County Courthouse in Skokie at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29. The charges stem from a report of alleged unwanted calls in the 400 block of Michael Manor on Aug. 24.

Deceptive Practice Charged

Johnny Yunes Mejia, 29, of 53 Stonefield Dr., Glendale Heights, was charged with deceptive practice at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28. He allegedly used an invalid check in the 200 block of Waukegan Road on Mar. 27. He was taken into custody in the 2100 block of Euclid Avenue in Rolling Meadows.

Theft Charged

Shirley Edwards, 60, of 6207 S. Eberhart Ave., Chicago, was charged with theft at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28. She was taken into custody after an investigation of a theft reported on Saturday, Nov. 10 in the 1700 block of Wildberry Drive.

Order Violation Charged

Rudy Mendez, 66, of 1849 Balmoral Ave., Glenview, was charged with violation of an order of protection at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29. He allegedly texted someone in violation of a court order.

Identity Theft Charged

Timothy Flagg, 39, of 9184 Woodlawn Ave., Chicago, was charged with identity theft, six counts of possession of a fictitious or altered driver’s license, and obstructing identification. He was apprehended at 8:34 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 after he allegedly tried to fraudulently purchase appliances at an undisclosed store in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

DUI Charges

Josie Haritos, 44, of 1648 Greenwood Rd., Glenview, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, and improper left turn. She was stopped at 12:51 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22 in the 1800 block of Wagner Road.

Burglaries and Thefts

A briefcase containing documents and cash were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Raleigh Road between 5:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Someone took a backpack, sunglasses, and a briefcase containing documents from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Glenview Road. The burglary occurred between 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 and 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Someone took a package delivered to a lobby in the 700 block of Waukegan Road before 11:39 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Jewelry was taken from a home in the 1700 block of Wildberry Drive between Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 10.

Wheels and tires were taken from six vehicles in the 2000 block of Waukegan Road before 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Someone took a package of ammunition delivered to a home in the 1500 block of Huntington Drive between 5:$9 and 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

A home in the 600 block of Harms Road was ransacked between 6 and 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14. Nothing appeared taken from the house.

An unlocked garage in the 2200 block of Strawberry Lane was entered before 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Nothing appeared taken from the garage.

Jewelry was taken from a home in the 3700 block of Glenview Road before 12:37 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19.

Someone took a concrete saw valued at $1,000 from a worksite in the 1400 block of Hawthorne Lane before 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Jewelry valued at more than $3,000 was taken from a home in the 1000 block of Crystal Court before 8:05 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22.

Artwork valued at $600 was taken from a home in the 1700 block of Bluestem Lane before 2:17 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23.

Someone ransacked a home in the 1800 block of Aberdeen Drive before 1:38 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23. Nothing appeared taken from the house.

A home in the 1500 block of Glenview Road was ransacked before 6:49 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23. Nothing appeared taken from the house.

Merchandise was taken from a trailer in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road before 7:13 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23. The loss was estimated at $200.

A garage door opener was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 3200 block of Sandy Lane before 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.

A cellular telephone was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1800 block of W. Ridgewood Lane before 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.

Someone ransacked an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Pleasant Lane before 12:18 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24. Nothing appeared taken from the vehicle.

Jewelry valued at $4,000 was taken from a home in the 3100 block of Mapleleaf Drive before 9:43 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26.

About $100 cash was taken from an apartment in the 2600 block of Chestnut Avenue before 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26.

Retail Theft Charged

Brian Hartfield, 33, of 1837 Monroe St., Glenview, was charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26. He was apprehended at an undisclosed store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for clothing and medication. Police did not say how they discovered the alleged contraband or what alleged item they recovered.

Jennifer Wu, 60, of 7410 W. Forest Preserve Way, Chicago, was charged with retail theft at 2:18 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26. She was apprehended at an undisclosed store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for jewelry and clothing.

Jane Kelly, 39, of 2335 Maple Ave., Northbrook, was charged with retail theft at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27. She was apprehended at an undisclosed store in the 2200 block of Willow Road after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for electronics and cosmetics.

Retail Theft Reported

Two men took infant formula valued at a total of $1,174.41 from an undisclosed store in the 2200 block of Willow Road at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

An unknown man took beverages valued at $3 from an undisclosed store in the 3300 block of Glenview Road at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

The stereo and owner’s manual were taken from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Glenwood Lane between Wednesday, Nov. 7 and Tuesday, Nov. 13.

An unknown person took items valued at a total of $230 from an undisclosed store in the 2200 block of Willow Road at 6:47 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Someone took several bottles of liquor valued at a total of $600 from an undisclosed store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road at 2:39 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

Someone tried to take liquor from an undisclosed store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road at 8:01 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23. An employee confronted the suspect who fled from the store without taking any merchandise.

Warrant Apprehensions

Cynthia Knutson-Gearheart, 24, of 9133 Knight Avenue, Des Plaines, was served an outstanding warrant from Lake County for possession of a controlled substance. She was taken into custody during an investigation of a suspicious vehicle at Pfingsten Road and Brett Lane at 8:49 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Jovana Mendenhall, 22, of 1426 South 10th Ave., Maywood, was served an outstanding warrant from Aurora for retail theft and no proof of insurance. She was apprehended at 8:38 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 after an alleged traffic crash at E. Lake Avenue and Patriot Boulevard. She was also charged with no proof of insurance.

Vandalism Reports

Someone spread dog feces on a front door, a garage door, and a garage keypad in the 300 block of Lincoln Street before 12:47 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23.

A vehicle was scratched in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard before 1:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23.

Someone scratched a vehicle in the 800 block of Rolling Pass Road before 2:56 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.
