Glenview Blotter: 2 Charged With ‘Theft Of Lost Or Mislaid Property’


The following records are from the files of the Glenview Police Dept. The Glenview Journal publishes its “Police Blotter” every issue:

Battery Charged

Kenny Vargas, 36, of 1638 Greenwood Rd., Glenview, was charged with battery at 7:53 p.m. Saturday, May 5. He was taken into custody at his home. Police did not explain what acts warranted the charge.

Theft Charged

Markeita Goodman, 28, of 1471 Foster St., Evanston, was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 8. The alleged incident occurred on April 4 in the 100 block of Waukegan Road.

June Murillo, 53, of 8529 Milwaukee Ave., Niles, was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property. She was apprehended at 1:27 p.m. Wednesday, May 9; the alleged incident occurred on Tuesday, May 1 in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue. Police did not explain what acts warranted the charge.

Johnathon Telles-Cedeno, 24, of 4904 Magoun Ave., East Chicago, IN, was charged with theft. He was taken into custody in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 7:53 p.m. Tuesday, May 8. Police did not explain what acts warranted the charge or how they located Telles-Cedeno.

Forgery Charged

Ashley Shinn, 34, of 6646 N. Harlem Ave., Chicago, was charged with forgery and identity theft at 1 p.m. Monday, May 14. Police did not explain what acts, that allegedly occurred in the 700 block of Becker Road, warranted the charge.

Suspicious Man

An unknown man allegedly dropped his pants and committed a lewd act in an undisclosed store in the 1900 block of Willow Road at 5:26 p.m. Friday, May 11.

Retail Theft Charged

Anthony Lake, 44, of West 112th Place in Chicago, was charged with retail theft at Mariano’s, 25 Waukegan Rd., at 10:23 a.m. Monday, May 7. He allegedly left without paying for liquor and he was taken into custody in the parking lot.

Anthony Lake, 49, of 44 W. 112th Pl., Chicago, was charged with retail theft at 10:23 a.m. Monday, May 7. He was taken into custody in the first block of Waukegan Road.

Svitlana Skvirskiy, 52, of 9805 Bianco Terr., Des Plaines, was charged with retail theft at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday, May 9. He was taken into custody in the first block of Waukegan Road.

Retail Theft Reported

Someone took two handbags without paying from an undisclosed store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive at 3:01 p.m. Thursday, May 3.

Liquor and other merchandise valued at a total of $1,200 were taken by an unknown person at an undisclosed store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road at 5:52 p.m. Friday, May 4.

Someone left an undisclosed store in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road without paying for merchandise valued at $5. The theft occurred at 6:41 p.m. Tuesday, May 8.

Someone took 15 cans of cat food valued at a total of $35 from an undisclosed store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road. The theft occurred at 10:11 a.m. Friday, May 11.

Someone took an eyeglass frame from an undisclosed store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road at 1:48 p.m. Friday, May 11. The loss was valued at $290.

An unknown person took a shirt valued at $38 from an undisclosed store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive and fled without paying. The theft occurred at 3:42 p.m. Monday, May 14.

Someone took a shirt valued at $40 from an undisclosed store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive at 3:42 p.m. Monday, May 14 and did not pay.

A screen protector and a water bottle were taken from an undisclosed store in the 2200 block of Willow Road by an unknown person at 4:59 p.m. Monday, May 14.

Driving Charges

Jose Flores, 30, of 2200 Tanglewood Dr., Glenview, was charged with no valid driver’s license, no proof of insurance, and expired registration. He was stopped in the 300 block of Waukegan Road at 1 a.m. Sunday, May 6.

Elvia Palillero, 33, of 10384 Michael Todd Terr., Glenview, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance, and suspended registration. She was stopped in the 1500 block of Greenwood Road at 9:26 p.m. Monday, May 7.

Grant Bonner, 24, of 239 N. Oak Lawn Ave., Elmhurst, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and no proof of insurance at 11:21 p.m. Tuesday, May 8. He was stopped at Willow and Shermer roads.

Mario Ramos, 40, of 8455 Dempster St., Niles, was charged with speeding more than 26 mph over the limit at 10:13 p.m. Tuesday, May 15. He was stopped in the 100 block of Waukegan Road.

Burglaries and Thefts

Someone took and cashed several checks from a home in the 2900 block of Covert Road before 4:45 p.m. Monday, April 30.

A customer at an undisclosed store in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue told police someone took a wallet that was left on a counter before 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 1.

Unknown items were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1500 block of Lehigh Avenue before 2:38 p.m. Thursday, May 3.

A garage door opener was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard before 7:25 p.m. Friday, May 4.

Someone took $700 in cash from an undisclosed store in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue before 3:59 p.m. Monday, May 7.

Someone entered a home in the 4500 block of Concord Lane and took a telephone before 10:37 a.m. Tuesday, May 8.

Someone took a golf cart from a business in the 900 block of Shermer Road before 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 9.

A GPS and a flashlight were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2300 block of Iroquois Drive before 7:46 a.m. Thursday, May 10.

A purse was taken from a home in the 1700 block of Wildberry Drive before 12:57 p.m. Friday, May 11.

Jewelry and cash valued at a total of more than $3,000 were taken from a home in the 3000 block of Lexington Lane before 9:16 a.m. Saturday, May 12.

Someone ransacked a home in the 1200 block of Waukegan Road before 7:10 p.m. Monday, May 14. Nothing appeared taken from the residence.

Vandalism Reports

A mailbox was damaged in the 1900 block of Glen Oak Drive before 7:59 p.m. Tuesday, May 1.

Locks were damaged at an undisclosed store in the 2200 block of Waukegan Road before 3:39 p.m. Friday, May 11.
