End Of An Era

After more than three decades serving patrons, the owner of Sam’s of Arlington, located in Clearbrook Plaza at 1863 W. Central Rd., Arlington Heights, closed for the final time Friday, Nov. 6 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Owner George Vassos on Nov. 5 told his customers on Facebook that the establishment is not in a position to withstand the most recent indoor dining ban due to rising positivity numbers. He previously closed for three months in March and told customers he was still recovering from that shut down prior to the most recent order from the governor. “The memories made here at Sam’s will be cherished always,” he wrote to customers. “Sadly, we have to say goodbye to our staff, friends and loyal customers and wish you all good health and happiness. Stay strong, stay safe and stay healthy.”
