The race for Elk Grove Village trustee will be hotly contested with six candidates filing nominating petitions to appear on the Tuesday, April 2, 2019 consolidated election ballot running for three open seats.

Those running include two incumbents — Sam Lissner and Nancy Czarnik — along with former Elk Grove Village Police Chief Stephen Schmidt, Elk Grove Village Youth Committee member Scott Saxe, activist Julee Mortensen and Laborers Union Local 6 President and Business Manager Jeff Ziemann.

Mortensen filed her petitions yesterday (Wednesday). All other candidates filed Monday, Dec. 10. Nominating petitions will continue to be accepted by the village clerk through Monday, Dec. 17.
