Dist. 62 Celebrates National Principals Month


Des Plaines School Dist. 62 formally recognized its school principals and assistant principals for their dedication to public education this October, designated as National Principals Month.

“Our district is extremely fortunate to have such dedicated instructional leaders supporting our staff and students,” said Supt. Paul Hertel. “The work our principals do is relentless and varies each day based on the needs of his or her learning community.

Principals in Dist. 62 include:

  • Greg Schneider and Melody Huisinga, Algonquin Middle School interim principals
  • Panagiota “Patty” Tzortzis, Algonquin Middle School assistant principal
  • John Swanson, Chippewa Middle School principal
  • Juliana Vissering, Chippewa Middle School assistant principal
  • Erica Cupuro, Central Elementary School principal
  • Colleen White, Cumberland Elementary School principal
  • Ania Figueroa, Forest Elementary School principal
  • Kelly Krueger, Iroquois Community School principal
  • Margo Giannoulis, North Elementary School principal
  • Alyssa Shlensky, North Elementary School assistant principal
  • Jennifer Suarez Bautista, Orchard Place Elementary School principal
  • Lisa Carlos, Plainfield Elementary School principal
  • Kristin Jares, South Elementary School principal
  • Bradley Stein, Terrace Elementary School principal
