Greg Minter

Minter currently serves as an associate principal for Prospect, a role he has held since 2003.

According to district officials, Minter’s experience at Prospect combined with his strong interpersonal skills allow him to build positive relationships, and insightfully and effectively lead the school.

“I am confident Greg is going to do an incredible job as principal of Prospect High School,” Supt. David Schuler stated. “Greg will continue to build upon the great educational experience that Prospect students are receiving.”

Minter said he has a deep affinity for the students, staff, parents, and community of Prospect, and is thrilled to build on the work of his predecessors.

“I would like to consider how we can maximize our teaching talent, resources, and academic and extracurricular offerings to create a school that provides opportunities for students to pursue their passions, explore career pathways, and learn more about the world around them,” Minter said.

Prior to his role at Prospect, he served as assistant principal at Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood, WA. from 1999-2003. Minter has additionally served as an English teacher at Waukegan High School, Warren Township High School and at Illahee Junior High in Federal Way, WA.

“I’ve been a witness to Greg’s leadership for several years and look forward to the continued progress and innovation at Prospect,” Dist. 214 Board Member Mark Hineman said, who served as the board representative on the principal interview committee.

Minter received his bachelor’s of science degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Wisconsin and his master’s of education degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Washington.

Minter succeeds Michelle Dowling, who retires at the end of the school year following a 34-year career in Dist. 214.

His annual salary is expected to total $166,000, an increase from $155,623 today.
