Cole Starts As Assistant City Manager

Rolling Meadows again has an assistant city manager, more than 11 years after the last time that job was filled.

Glen Cole took over the position on Monday, Jan. 23. Cole came to Rolling Meadows from his last position as assistant to the village administrator in Lake Bluff, a job he held for just fewer than six years. City Manager Ron Sabo introduced Cole to the public and the aldermen at the city council meeting on Tuesday.

The last assistant city manager was Barry Krumstok who became city manager upon the departure of Sarah Phillips in 2011. The city council eliminated the position in November of that year and created a new assistant to the city manager position. Lori Ciezak currently holds that job.

Krumstok tried several times to get the assistant city manager position re-established, but the councils denied his attempts.

Aldermen began to reconsider the position in July 2021 after firing Krumstok; they re-approved the job title in September 2022.
