City’s Gas Streetlights Are Symbol Hard To Maintain

The gas lights in Uptown Park Ridge have been an elegant tradition, dating back to the 1970s when Park Ridge was establishing symbols for its centennial celebration, marking the anniversary of the incorporation of the Brickton settlement as “Park Ridge.”
You can still find them south of the tracks, along Main Street and Prospect, and in Hodges Park, but you can’t find them “on” and working like you ...
