Palatine Park Dist. Volunteers Honored For Years Of Service
The Palatine Park District honored its volunteers at the 11th annual Volunteer of the Year Luncheon at Cotillion Banquets in Palatine on Feb. 6. Over 200 attended.
The following volunteers were recognized for their years of service in their organization:
Sue Lech - 4 years of service - Palatine Children's Chorus,
Kim Radochonski - 4 years of service - Palatine Gymnastics Club,
Tom Hauert - 4 years of service - Palatine Opportunity Center,
Travis LaSchiava - 4 years of service - Palatine Panthers Wrestling Club,
Randy (Randa) Thrasher - 4 years of service - Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council,
Alan Bosslet - 5 years of service - Palatine Baseball Association,
Michelle Mabry - 6 years of service - Palatine Baseball Association,
Maria Cudney - 5 years of service - PAFA Cheer & Flags
Gayle Huberty - 5 years of service - Tiger Shark Swim Team,
Deb McClure - 5 years of service - Palatine Amateur Football Association,
Pat Prichard - 6 years of service - Prairie Woods Audubon Society,
Tom Budinger - 7 years of service - Palatine Stables,
Dale Metzger - 8 years of service - Palatine Youth Baseball/Softball,
Terry Ruff - 8 years of service - Celtic Soccer Club,
Jim "Shooting Star" Koblas - 9 years of service - Algonquin Longhouse, Inc. NFP,
Greg Brunks - 10 years of service - Celtic Cup,
Susannah Kist - 20 years of service - Wood Street Theater Company,
Lola Mugalian - 23 years of service - Palatine Historical Society,
Bob Mathieson - 27 Years of service - Palatine Hills Golf Association,
In addition, two past volunteers of the year were recognized. They are:
Bert Robins - 10+ years of service - Palatine Baseball,
Mike Tolzien - 10 years of service - Palatine Amateur Football Association.
The park district also recognizes volunteers through the Palatine Park District Honor Roll. This year, two volunteers were added to the Honor Roll, which is awarded, through resolution by the board of commissioners, to those who have had "significant years of service to an organization." Added were:
Al Sittaro, Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council, a Council volunteer and a member of the Board of Directors since 1993,
Robert Alexander, a member of the Palatine Hills Golf Association since 1970, who also served on the PHGA Board and was elected president of the organization for the 2000 season.
