Meadows CURE Talent Show Fights Racism

Rolling Meadows High School will present its sixth annual CURE talent show, aimed at ending racism, on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 11 and 12.

The program is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the school theater. It is a coordinated effort of students and teachers, using poetry, live music performance, dance, "spoken word," and other entertainment vehicles to bring awareness to the presence of racial prejudice and a call to its reversal.

The school asked for anyone who has taken action in fighting social injustice and racism to contribute to the show. Residents can contact faculty sponsor Cecilia Garcia at 847-718-5659 or cecilia.garcia@d214.org with their stories.

Proceeds from ticket sales go the school's scholarship fund.
