Downtown Marketing Mulled
The Rolling Meadows Economic Development Committee on Tuesday, Feb. 2, recommended a marketing analysis of the city's downtown.
The committee will send that recommendation to the city council at a future meeting for possible approval. The recommendation is to award the contract to Goodman Williams Group of Chicago. The company submitted a price of $27,500 with up to $500 in expenses.
"With the slowdown in development with the change in the economy, now is really the time to look at what can be supported in our downtown and what sort of things we should be looking to try to attract in our downtown," said Valerie Dehner, community development director. If the council approves the study, it would take about 10 to 12 weeks to complete, Dehner said.
