BG To Hear Sports Facility Proposal
Buffalo Grove trustees will hear a proposal on Feb. 22 for a baseball and volleyball facility to operate at 355 Hastings Dr.
James Rebecca and Peter Miramonti, partners of Multisport Athletix, describe their business as a "turnkey operation" from the previous use. The Sports Academy-Northwest, which was approved in 2007, closed in December 2009.
The building has a total floor area of 68,735 sq. ft. Multisport Athletix would occupy 23,858 sq. ft. of the building's east side.
The floor plan as developed by Sports Academy-Northwest has four volleyball courts, a mini-volleyball court and a baseball training area.
An area for offices and a conference room are located at the entry to the facility.
Both partners propose to continue to provide individual and team training for volleyball and baseball.
The majority of activities would be held between 3-10 p.m. on weekdays and starting at 9 a.m. on weekends.
According to Village Manager Bill Brimm, if the village board approves the plans on Feb. 22, Multisport could begin operating immediately.
A recreational facility requires approval as a special use in the Industrial District.
