System Delivers Emergency Information
Rolling Meadows residents can sign up for a new citizen notification system.
The Everbridge Mass Emergency Notification System enables fast dissemination of critical information to residents about emergency situations such as flooding, tornadoes, missing persons, hazardous materials spills, and more. It will also improve public awareness in non-emergencies such as city events, road closures, and special services.
The service is administered by Northwest Dispatch, the city's emergency dispatch service.
The new system can deliver messages to residents in any way they want including via home phone, cell phone, email, and more. Residents can go the city's Web site, www.cityrm.org anytime and use the Citizen Alert Notification link to submit their contact information. Residents without Internet access may sign up at the Rolling Meadows Library.
