Palatine Restaurant Closed

An Italian restaurant that opened last April in Palatine is now out of business, not even making it a year.

Village staff was recently notified that Cucina Bella, 2001 N. Rand Rd., closed their business permanently. The restaurant took over the location previously occupied by Aranella's Italian restaurant and Cristiano's Italian restaurant.

Owner Vito DeFrenza had a staff of approximately 25 employees and accommodated up to 175 customers at one time.

The telephone number to the establishment has been disconnected and according to village officials, DeFrenza failed to pay the second installment of liquor license fees. Telephone calls to DeFrenza have not been returned to village staff.
