Toys For Tots Goal: Fill Council Chambers
Village of Palatine employees, the Palatine Police Dept., and the Palatine Fire Dept., in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps Reserve are again sponsoring the "Toys for Tots" drive in Palatine.
"The annual Toys for Tots campaign is an opportunity for all the Village of Palatine employees to provide assistance to needy families in Palatine and throughout the northwest suburbs," said Palatine police officer Wayne Sunderlin.
Last year, toys collected filled over three trucks. To exceed last year's totals, the village is welcoming back to this year's Toys for Tots campaign Marion Jordan and Stuart R. Paddock School, the Hunting Ridge PTA and Plum Grove Jr. High School's SOS Club.
The village is welcoming first-time participants Lincoln and Virginia Lake schools to this year's toy drive.
This year's goal is to fill the village hall's Council Chambers full of toys.
Anyone who wishes to donate new, unwrapped toys can drop them off at village hall, 200 East Wood Street. Collection boxes are located in the Finance Lobby, which is open during work hours, and in the police department, open all day and night.
Toys will be collected through Friday, Dec. 20.
The toys collected will be distributed to children in the Northwest Metropolitan area by the U.S. Marine Corps Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
