Ex-Meadows Firefighter Gets 4 Years Behind Bars
A former Rolling Meadows firefighter was sentenced to four years in prison and a life sentence as a registered sex offender for sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl while on duty in 2006.
Donald Naughton, 40, of 4260 Greenfield Lane, Lake in the Hills, plead guilty to one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of official misconduct. Three charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, nine other counts of official misconduct, and one count of unlawful restraint were dropped in exchange for the guilty plea.
On June 13, 2006, Naughton sexually abused the girl while he was on duty at the Rolling Meadows Fire Station 15, 3111 Meadow Drive. The girl was part of the Explorer program that was at the firehouse.
The girl reported the incident late in 2008 and Naughton was taken into custody in December after an investigation. He was formally indicted on Jan. 16, 2009.
He was given credit for the one day he served before posting bond.
