Nab Stab Suspect

Arlington Hts. police identified and apprehended a Hanover Park man suspected of stabbing an Arlington Hts. man several times on April 20.

They charged Frederick Trejo-Mora, 23, with aggravated battery, a class 3 felony, and possession of a controlled substance. Police said Trejo-Mora has also been staying with a friend in the 2100 block of South Goebbert Road in Arlington Hts.

Trejo-Mora allegedly chased a 27-year-old Arlington Hts. man in the 2100 block of South Goebbert Road. The victim tried to escape, but fell. Trejo-Mora allegedly stabbed him in the back several times and once on the forearm before fleeing. At the time of the attack, the victim told police there was at least one more man with Trejo-Mora. The victim was later treated for his injuries at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Hts.

Police identified Trejo-Mora as a suspect during the investigation but could not locate him for questioning. On May 29, two detectives were at the apartment complex on Goebbert when they saw him walking and took him into custody. When they apprehended him, he allegedly had five grams of cocaine in his possession.

Trejo-Mora allegedly admitted stabbing the victim, but told police no one else was with him that afternoon.

He is being held in Cook County Jail on a $40,000 bond. His next court date is June 23.
