Music Fills The Air Sundays & Wednesdays At North School Park
A full line-up of free Sunday and Wednesday evening concerts was recently unveiled by the Arlington Hts. Park District. Here's what's on tap:
Sunday evenings, June 21-Aug. 17
Where: North School Park, Eastman St. & Arlington Hts. Rd., unless otherwise noted.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Alcohol and dogs are not allowed in any Arlington Hts. park. In case of inclement weather, concerts are cancelled. Call the hotline: 847-577-3003 x1.
The Associates
June 21, 7 p.m. - A premire Motown and variety band in the Midwest. Motown, Classic Rock, Blues, R&B, Swing, Jazz, Country and more.
Deuce
June 28, 7 p.m. - Original songs and creative covers---mix of Chicago soul with blues, funk, jazz and rock.
215 West
July 12, 7 p.m. - Concert at Centennial Park (Burr Oak between Windsor and Buffalo Grove roads) - This four-piece group includes bass, guitar, drums, and keyboards. Jump from Motown, to current Top 40, 50's rock, Latin dance, 40's Swing, 70's Disco, Classic Rock and the Blues.
White Saddle Band
July 19, 7 p.m. - Songs by the likes of Elvis, Hank Williams, Eagles, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffet, Van Morrison, The Drifters, Toby Keith, and more.
Saturday June Band
July 26, 7 p.m. - Steve Kessler and his band are one of the premier pop acts on Chicago's North Shore having shared the bill with The Beach Boys, Little Richard, and Mike Smith of the Dave Clark 5 among others.
Wednesday Evenings
Arlington Hts. Community Concert Band
June 17, 7:30 p.m. - Directed by Adam La Spata, the 60 member Community Concert Band entertains with light-classical music, marches, showtunes and theme concerts.
Navy Ceremonial Band
June 24, 7 p.m. - The Navy Band plays traditional marches, patriotic tunes and contemporary classics. The Military Band is tentatively scheduled. For unforeseen reasons, the band could be cancelled at the last minute. Call and confirm before attending this concert.
Arlington Hts. Community Concert Band
July 15 & Aug. 12, 7:30 p.m.
United States Air Force Band of Mid America - "Shade of Blue" Jazz Ensemble
Aug. 17, 7 p.m.*
* This is a Monday night concert. The Military Band is tentatively scheduled. For unforeseen reasons, the band could be cancelled at the last minute. Call to confirm.
