City Trying To Avoid Job Cuts, For Now

Although some additional cuts may be coming to the Rolling Meadows budget, there are currently no jobs on the line.

"We're trying to avoid that with just some more program cuts at this time," said City Manager Sarah Phillips. The city council met in a budget workshop on Saturday, June 6 to discuss past, current, and future budgets.

Aldermen went over the city's audit from 2008, talked about the current state of the budget, and heard some ideas Phillips has for the 2010 budget.

"The financial situation's not looking any better," Phillips said. "We are making some additional cuts in this year's budget."

She hopes to present options to the council at the meeting on Tuesday, June 16.
