Pedestrian Hit By Car, Injured While Crossing Golf Road

A pedestrian was injured on Thursday, Aug. 21, when he reportedly tried to cross Golf Road between stopped cars.

The 34-year-old Naperville man was allegedly crossing through stopped traffic on Golf Road near the Meijer gas station on Algonquin Road. "He got to the right turn lane, there was no stopped traffic there, and he walked into the path of a vehicle traveling down the right turn lane," said Police Sgt. Tony Gaspari.

The man received injuries to his leg and head but was conscious and alert when officers arrived. Paramedics transported him to Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights for treatment. Neither he nor the 45-year-old Elk Grove Village woman driving the vehicle received tickets in the incident.
