Lambatos Steps In At Eisenhower
A new era began at Prospect Heights School Dist. 23 this summer when newly appointed Principal Dr. Luke Lambatos took over at Eisenhower Elementary School.
On Wednesday, June 11, Dist. 23's Board of Education named Lambatos principal of Eisenhower Elementary School, with an annual salary of $95,000.
Lambatos most recently served as principal of Grand Prairie Elementary School in Frankfort School Dist. 157-C. He also held administrative positions in Westmont School Dist. 201 and taught in Community Consolidated School Dist 93. In all, he has 14 years of experience as an administrator, teacher, coach, and club director at the elementary level.
"I decided to come here, because this district has a small town feel to it with neighborhood schools and a community with high expectations," said Lambatos.
Lambatos grew up in Schaumburg and attended school in Township High School Dist. 211.
After high school, Lambatos earned a bachelor's degree in teaching of Social Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He went on to receive a master's degree in Educational Administration and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University. He also just received another doctorate degree from Northern Illinois in Educational Administration.
A resident of Wheaton, Lambatos expects to draw on his classroom skills to help enhance the lives of students, staff, and families of Dist. 23.
"Luke's background in teaching and experience as an administrator from kindergarten through eighth grade is excellent," said Supt. Dr. Greg Guarrine. "He is child-centered and has a background in curriculum and instruction that is quite good. He will be a wonderful addition to our administrative team."
"I am looking forward to working with the community and making Eisenhower a greater school than it already is," commented Lambatos.
