Walking For A Cause
Hersey Students, Staff Represent Orange At Annual MS Walk
Orange-shirted walkers were seen for blocks around Harper College on Sunday, May 4.
John Hersey High School's staff and student body were "well represented" at the college, as the school participated and raised over $6,000 in the'Įannual Walk MS to help fund research and a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
The first Huskies eight-member walking team in 1994 raised almost'Ä®$500 for MS.
Since 1997, Hersey has raised close to $94,000 to combat the disease of the central nervous system.
From 1998-2003, Hersey was recognized as a "top fundraising school" for MS.'Ä®
Walk MS helps provide funds for services needed by 20,000 people in'Ä® Illinois currently living with MS.
Brunswick Zone 'Įin Mt. Prospect provided summer bowling passes for all'Įregistered Hersey walkers who collected at least $25.
For those who were unable to'Į participate or attend Walk MS, donations may still be made. To'Įsupport Hersey's 2008 Walk MS team, checks may be made payable to National'Į Multiple Sclerosis Society and mailed to John Hersey High School.
