High School Deals With Threat
Buffalo Grove High School administrators along with police have been working together all week to ensure everyone's safety after a threatening message was found Friday in a boys restroom.
According to Principal Patrice Johannes, a student found the message around 10 a.m. She said the threat was small in print, written in pencil between two urinals. The message stated, "May 6 Blood BGH." Buffalo Grove police continued to be visibly present all week in the school. There has also been extra surveillance in the building by uniformed and plain-clothes officers.
In a written letter to students and parents last weekend, Johannes said, "I am sure you have heard many rumors. The police and the administration feel this is not a credible threat, but we are taking every precautionary measure so that you will feel safe. We will make every effort to keep you informed."
Johannes went on to say that administration and police believed the campus was and is safe and activities would continue as planned. "These threats and acts of intimidation must be stopped," said Johannes. "We are aggressively investigating this matter in conjunction with the police. This perpetrator will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."
Johannes said there was never a lockdown at the school on Friday and the police and administrators are investigating the incident.
