Des Plaines Police are working with departments in Prospect Hts., Arlington Hts., Palatine, and Wheeling in an effort to piece together information involving an armed robbery of the Aldi Food Store, 1365 S. Lee St., in Des Plaines last Wednesday night.

According to Des Plaines Deputy Police Chief Rich Rozkuszka, investigators believe the man who robbed the Des Plaines store may be responsible for similar armed robberies of other area grocery stores including an Aldi's.

Police said that at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 23, the suspect entered the Lee Street food store just before it was scheduled to close. He pointed a handgun at a clerk who was at a cash register and demanded all the money. The clerk complied and handed over the money. The suspect fled the store in a vehicle in an unknown direction. No injures were reported.

Rozkuszka said the suspect is a male, white, 30 to 35 years of age, approximately 6-ft. tall weighing between 200 and 220-lbs. Police have possession of a surveillance tape of the incident. An undisclosed sum of money was stolen
