Woman Gets 35 Years In Death of Palatine Colleague
A Bloomington, Ill. woman was sentenced to 35 years in prison early last week for murdering a Palatine woman in 2005.
Diana R. Thames, 50, was sentenced by a Cook County judge for killing Cindy Wolosick on Aug. 12, 2005. Wolosick was a 21-year teacher and speech therapist at School Dist. 15's Lake Louise School in Palatine. Thames was indicted at the end of January. Her sentence includes paying a fine of $665. She also received a credit of 976 days for prison time already served.
According to prosecutors, Thames confessed to authorities she and the victim had an argument over finances and then went into the kitchen to retrieve a 13-and-a-half inch knife. Thames took the knife and stabbed Wolosick 62 times in the head, chest and neck, according to prosecutors.
