Sances In As New Dem Committeeman
A new Wheeling Township Democratic Committeemen was appointed last week to replace Patrick Botterman, who passed away in early March from an apparent heart attack.
The Cook County Democratic Party appointed Kathleen Sances during its regular board meeting.
Before the meeting began, board members remembered Botterman with pizza and refreshments.
Botterman, 44, of Arlington Hts., was elected to the Board of Trustees twice and also served on the Board of the Harper College Educational Foundation.
Botterman's political resume was long and extensive dating back to 1996. He served as campaign manager for Illinois State Senator Terry Link, the political director for John Schmidt, who ran for governor, and was a campaign manager for politicians that included John Schmidt, Congressman Melissa Bean, Carol Mosley Braun, Senator Dan Kotowski, Chicago Ald. Scot Waguespack and Mark Pera.
Botterman was born on Jan. 25, 1964. He was a Harper trustee from 1998-2003 and then again from 2007-08. In addition, he served on the Harper Foundation Board from 2003-07.
The Wheeling Township Democrats serves approximately 95% of Prospect Heights and Wheeling, 85% of Arlington Heights, 60% of Mt. Prospect, 55% of Buffalo Grove, and small portions of Des Plaines, Northbrook and Rolling Meadows.
