New Principal In Store For Fremd

A new principal at William Fremd High School in Palatine was appointed during Township High School Dist. 211's Thursday, Apr. 10, board of education meeting.

Lisa Small, 39, was appointed principal effective July 1. Small's annual salary will be $121,176. Small is currently Dist. 211's director of Instructional Improvement. She will take over principal duties for current Principal Marina Scott, who leaves the district after 26 years to pursue an assistant principal position at Dist. 128 in Libertyville.

Small joined Dist. 211 in 1992 as a science and mathematics teacher at Hoffman Estates High School, also serving as a girls' and boys' volleyball coach. She was promoted to 10-month assistant principal at the school in 2000.

In 2002, she was named 12-month assistant principal at Fremd, a position she held until moving to the Administration Center as director in 2004.
