4 Teens Charged In Arby's Robbery
Four individuals were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery after they allegedly stole $1,200 from the Arby's restaurant, 34 N. Elmhurst Rd. in Wheeling, on Tuesday, Mar. 11.
According to police, at approximately 3:48 p.m., officers were dispatched to the restaurant. Police interviewed employees who revealed that two men, one wearing a ski mask and the other wearing a bandanna covering his face, entered the eatery.
Police said both men were armed with handguns and demanded cash on hand, according to restaurant employees. The offenders then fled on foot and a police canine tracked their path until losing it at the street where it appeared they entered a vehicle.
Wheeling Police Dept. Investigations Division developed information that subsequently led to the arrest of four suspects.
As a result of the investigation, an 18 year-old and 16 year-old were identified as the two individuals who allegedly entered the eatery and robbed it at gunpoint, displaying what was later determined to be pellet guns.
It was also determined that James Cantrell, 19, of 582 Williamsburg Ct. in Wheeling was identified as allegedly driving the get-away vehicle. A fourth individual, a 17 year-old male, was arrested as reportedly being an accomplice who worked at the restaurant at the time of the robbery.
Everyone except the 16 year-old was transported to Rolling Meadows Courthouse where bond was set at $75,000. All three were scheduled to appear in court yesterday (Wednesday). The 16 year-old was referred to Juvenile Court.
